Who Will Help Us To Be Captivated?

Guest Speaker: Jeff Pike

Rev. Jeff Pike (seen here with his wife, Kelly, and kids, Hannah & Tyler) is currently serving as the pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.  Get to know a little more about this man of God from the following article: "I never dreamed that I would be where I am today and doing what I do! I have been blessed by God with a wonderful wife, Kelly, and two of the most awesome children, Hannah (18 years old), and Tyler (14 years old). My family is my life. Every day I live, I live to love them more. Kelly and I have a deep commitment to our Savior and to each other, in order to bring glory to our God. Displaying to everyone we come in contact with that our God is a God of second chances. His grace covers all our sins.
I have two parents (James and Doris Pike) who love Jesus dearly and did everything two parents could do to ensure that I understood who Jesus was and what He did for me. However, I made the choice to rebel and to allow the consuming addictions of alcohol and drugs to control my life. I threw away college for the party life. Each passing year, I sank deeper and deeper into my addictions, but God had a bigger plan. In my sin, he put people in my life to encourage me and pray for me. My parents loved me to the cross, despite having to practice tough love on more than one occasion. On May 21, 1997 at Revival Crusade, Jesus saved me. I am now who I am because of the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ. There is no life like the life I now have in Jesus. Shortly after saving me, Jesus called me to preach His Word. I was licensed into the ministry in June of 1997 by Five Points Baptist Church. I was ordained into the gospel ministry by Ider Baptist Church on January 7, 2001. I graduated from the Baptist College of Florida in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. I look to soon be striving for my Masters.
My ultimate desire is to preach the Gospel and disciple people to be disciple makers. God has called me to Mountain View Baptist Church to lead this congregation in reaching this Community, City, State, United States, and the World with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their is much work to do and the task can seem daunting at times, but with God all things are possible. I pray you will come and join us in reaching the unreached for God's glory. There is no more urgent task, so we must get busy. My heart's desire is for us to do it now before it is too late."  To learn more about his place of ministry, Mountain View Baptist, feel free to visit them online at www.mvbcserves.org.

Guest Worship Leaders: The Browns

It’s truly a family affair when The Browns hit the stage with their gospel music. The musical stylings of Shelly, Michaela, Adam, Andrew, Nick and Jessica exude excitement on the stage and offer a life-changing experience to all who hear them. The Browns deliver the powerful message of the gospel through word and song that engage audiences of all ages. The Browns have been touring across the United States since the group began its full-time ministry ten years ago. The heralded group began on the local and state level and has expanded and grown into a national touring group. This year The Browns received the prestigious honor of Top 10 Mixed Group of the Year for the second year in a row. “It started out with the Singing News magazine fans voting for the top ten,” Michaela said. “We had no idea we were up for this award until we got an e-mail to tell us. We were up with some wonderful groups. This honor is very rewarding coming from the fans and knowing that we’ve touched their hearts or ministered to them in some way.”  Previously The Browns had been awarded the Top Horizon Group of the Year for 3 consecutive years. The Browns love what they do, love each other, and the audiences to whom they sing.  Get to know more about the Browns and hear samples of their music now when you visit www.thebrownsmusic.com.

What Is Captivated All About?

It is time to be captivated!  Here's what our Pastor has to saw about this exciting revival time: "I am excited about this year’s conference we are calling “Captivated”. It means to be dominated by something with irresistible appeal. The goal of our conference is to lead our folks and those who will attend to be enthralled and joyous over our wondrous Savior, 'Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!' My prayer is we will gain a new found love which leads us to be more dependent upon God and it reflects in our lifestyle. As Christians we need to see ourselves as the only light in a dark world and live exclusively to promote the gospel in our neighborhoods, our country and across the world. Returning to lead us in worship this year are The Browns and we are excited to have them back again! Their oldest daughter Jessica and her husband Nick will be with them this year so the group will have a little bit of a new feel. They continue to win awards for their music but it is their heart for God’s people that impressed me as we had the opportunity to get to know them over four days last year. We are looking forward to their youthful vibrant style of instrumental and vocal music!  Leading us in God’s Word this year is Pastor Jeff Pike, who is currently serving at Mountain View Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama. Jeff is a personal friend of my family from Ider, Alabama, we attended college together and I count him as one of my closest friends. You are guaranteed to remember more than Jeff’s authentic accent, he has an infectious love of God and he is a great preacher of the Word of God. Jeff is one of those guys people are just drawn to and love to be around and I am eager to see how God uses him to encourage us to be Captivated!”

Why Be Captivated In The First Place?

Each year New Hope Baptist Church hosts a special revival-type conference in early to mid-spring.  This year's theme is Captivated – helping us to learn to be more captivated by Who Christ is and all He has done and is doing for us.  A guest speaker/preacher and special guest worship leader/musical guests are selected each year to lead us in this conference renewal time.

How Can You Really Be Captivated?

How do you get involved in our Captivated Conference?  Just show up and bring a friend!  For your added convenience, the Captivated Conference requires no registration with no registration deadline and the Conference is free of charge.  Dinner and Conferences are covered by the church for all guests each night.  Come enjoy this special time of fellowship and renewal with us this year.
