Who We Are:

  • Tupos (too-pos') is a Greek noun with a double meaning in English.  Tupos means (1) to be an example or a pattern for, and (2) to make an impact on or leave an impression from one object on another.  Our desire as a ministry is to teach students to and grow them in being an example and making an impact for Christ is this world.  This word is rooted in the theme verse for this ministry, found in 1 Timothy 4:12, which reads "Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe" (NASB).
  • This student ministry desires to be student led, under the direction and guidance of the Minister of Youth/Education (Pastor Justin Worden) and the Student Ministry Team (SMT).  Students are leaders of Ministry Teams designed by students for students.  These students overseeing the individual leadership teams (i.e. the Worship Team, the Drama Team, the Recreation Team) are part of the core group of students in Tupos, known as SALT (Student Accountability Leadership Team).
  • For more information about the organizational structure of Tupos or the ministries we provide, please contact Pastor Justin via text or call @ 863.781.9218 or via email @ Justin@NewHopeWauchula.org.

What We Do:

For further details about these particular weekly activities, please click the linked name of the activity above.

  • We also offer monthly or semi-annual activities including, but not limited to:
    • Special Events: are usually monthly outtings scheduled for the students to be able to bring friends and just enjoy some fun fellowship.  These events have included movie nights, pool parties, bowling, cook-outs, sports/game nights, and much more.  For details about the tenative coming events for this school year, please check out our exciting Calendar of Events.
    • His Girls Bible Study: is a monthly Bible study, which meets at the home of Justin and Summer Worden, is led by Summer Worden.  Visit our Calendar of Events to find out when our next meeting is scheduled.  Designed for girls in 9th-12th grade, this Bible study tackles the issues young ladies are faced with today.  To learn more about His Girls and the ReaL Girls ministry of Tupos Student Ministries, click the name above.
    • Middle School Girls Bible Study: is a monthly Bible study, which meets at the home of Justin and Summer Worden, is also led by Summer Worden.  Check our Calendar of Events for dates/times when we meet.  Designed for girls in 6th-8th grade, this Bible study will help steer the life of our middle school girls down the path God has for them.
    • Just Us Guys Bible Study: is a monthly Bible study, which meets at the home of Justin and Summer Worden, is led by Pastor Justin.  Please see our Calendar of Events for meeting times.  This is an in-depth study just for 6th-12th grade guys, which also includes food and video games.  What more could you want!!
    • Lock-In Camp: a local weekend event consisting of Friday night rally, food, games, and so much more.  Following a restful sleepover in the church facilities, Saturday's events include an rally, more food, and lots of fellowship.  A speaker and worship leader is brought in to host the weekend in June over each year.
    • Summer Camp: is the single biggest event in the life of this ministry!  Including worship, messages, small groups, and loads of free time, this camp has been life-changing every summer!  This coming year's summer camp will be July 9-13, 2012 in Daytona Beach.   To learn more click the following link = Student Life at the Beach 2012
    • Mission Trip To South Florida: has been another highlight of our summer each year (taking place at the end of July / beginning of August).  Over the last couple of years we have traveled down to First Baptist of Pompano Beach to serve through the association (doing painting, rebuilding, etc) and through their homeless ministry (leading worship for and feeding over 100-150 homeless folks).  What an opportunity this trip has been for us to be a "Tupos" (an example) to those we meet.
    • ONE Student Ministries: is a collaboration of the local churches (including ours) to put on community-wide events for our students.  These events included (but are not limited to): "ReVerb" Area-Wide DiscipleNow, our ONE Night School's Out Block Party, our ONE Night Back-2-School Rally, and our annual 5th Quarters (usually held at New Hope's Rec Center).
    • More to come soon...

Why We Do It:

  •  Mission Statement: "Through energized worship and exhilarating events, we desire to encourage believers of Jesus Christ to go deeper in their personal relationship with Him and challenge them to be an example in all of life for their friends and family."
